A little flavour of Taiwanese snacks in the heart of Geylang

Located at 458 Geylang Road, Lor 24A Geylang is a coffeeshop serving traditional taiwanese breakfast such as dough fritters aka youtiao, taiwanese vermicelli, braised pork rice, soya bean drink and couple of popular dimsum choices. I would recommend to go in groups of 3 at least to try a the wide variety of food.

Taiwan mee sua aka 台湾面线 ($4)
Braised pork rice aka 滷肉飯 ($4)

I thought the mee sua was pretty flavourful and the gravy was just right (not too sticky). The braised pork rice on the other hand was not up to my expectation. It felt like minced pork as being used overly much instead of the soft pork belly fats thats gives the overall essence.

Har Kow ($3.20)

In general, I think the price point vs quality factor is not that high. I didn’t manage to try the dough fritters this, perhaps that’s their specialty but my verdict for this time would be 3/5.
